- 2006 Meadow Brook Concours
As usual, the Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance had its share of surprising and unique cars. A streamlined Tatra 77 and Hermann Goering's Mercedes-Benz staff car were fine examples of automobiles that will never be seen on the street. Mercedes-Benz was well represented by a rare collection of 540K coupes and cabriolets. Dupont was also a featured marque, with a wide ranging selection of exemplary vehicles. A rare fuel-injected 1957 Pontiac Bonneville was a class winner. Of course, classic Cadillacs, Packards, and Pierce-Arrows were shown in abundance. Rare cars from Auto Union, Talbot Lago, Bugatti, and Delahaye stopped many spectators in their tracks. A pristine BMW 507 convertible drew much attention from attendees. If you have a passion for cars, the annual Meadow Brook Concours is well worth the trip.
