The LA Auto Show has become a top tier show on the past few years. Once, primarily a venue for Japanese and German brands which dominate the California market, the American automakers now make significant introductions at the show. One of the most anticipated debuts was the Ford Mach-E electric vehicle. Chevrolet's Corvette convertible is sure to be popular in sunny LA, while the new compact Trailblazer is another entry in the hot compact SUV segment. BMW showed the lineup of the M8 coupe, sedan, and convertible. Acura brought a TL sedan concept. Mercedes had the new GLS full size SUV and a retro electric roadster concept. Audi showed the sporty RS models of the Q8 SUV and A6 wagon, along with Q5 e-tron battery electric SUV. Kia also showed off the Seltos compact SUV. Toyota introduced the second generation of the hydrogen/electric Mirai fuel cell vehicle and the new Highlander midsize SUV. Hyundai showed off the restyled flagship Genesis G90 luxury sedan. Land Rover finally revealed the much anticipated successor to the rugged Defender SUV. Nissan had a completely redesigned Sentra compact join its refreshed sedan lineup. VW showed the Atlas CrossSport, a shorter variant of its full size Atlas SUV. The many new model introductions this year leave no doubt that LA is a premier American auto show.
