- 2005 Chicago Auto Show
The 2005 Chicago Auto Show revealed several important new production and concept vehicles. Among these significant introductions included the eagerly awaited Honda Civic Si concept, which also hints at the general styling direction for the next Civic. Dodge showed a compact SUV concept called the Nitro, which would presumably slot below the Durango. A new pre-production version of the rugged Toyota FJ Cruiser SUV (based on the 4Runner) bowed at Chicago as well. Mercedes-Benz introduced the S65 AMG as the fastest production sedan available. The new Mercury Milan midsize sedan debuted as the more stylish counterpart to the Ford Fusion. Buick's sleek new Lucerne is the replacement for the venerable LeSabre large sedan. Overall, most manufacturers focused on mainstream vehicles, which would have a wide appeal to the Chicago Auto Show attendees.
