Like its sibling the Toyota Camry, the Lexus ES300 is all-new for 1997. The new vehicle is 2 inches longer in the wheelbase and 2.4 inches longer in overall length than the previous model. The new body design features a lower (.29 vs. .32) drag coefficient. The output of the 3.0-liter V-6 has been increased to 200 hp. Engine output increases coupled with a 78 pound weight reduction should help improve the performance of the ES300.
