Although it is a replacement for the slow-selling Aviator, the new MKX is a very different vehicle. Although commonly referred to as a CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle), the MKX is really a tall station wagon. The MKX is powered by a 250-bhp 3.5L V-6 mated to a 6-speed automatic. FWD and AWD versions of the MKX are available. Properly equipped, the MKX can tow up to 3,500 lbs. The MKX's chromed grille is flanked by adaptive headlights that swivel to illuminate around curves. A luxurious interior features a choice of two types of wood trim, leather seats, and polished metal accents. The front seats are heated and cooled. Audiophiles will appreciate the 600-watt THX(R) II stereo with 14-speakers and dual subwoofers.
